The Newtown Bee (reputable local newspaper) reports 8 temporary outdoor pickleball courts in a former parking lot on the Fairfield Hills campus (Keating Farms Avenue), first installed circa 2016 by Parks & Recreation, with court repairs/relining in October 2021 and a full repave/resurfacing starting October 2024. Free open play; courts are periodically removed for campus events per Parks & Rec Director Amy Mangold. Permanent courts in a dedicated (non-parking) location are a stated town goal but not yet built as of the most recent coverage found.
