Where to Play Pickleball in Dallas, Texas (2026)

A neighborhood-by-neighborhood guide to 21 open pickleball venues across Dallas — from Cole Park's 6 free Uptown courts and The Grove's $40/hr Design District indoor courts to Preston Playhouse's 9-court North Dallas club and Samuell Grand's 12-court East Dallas facility.

Where to Play Pickleball in Dallas, Texas (2026)

Last reviewed 30 May 2026 against every venue's primary source. We list 21 open pickleball venues across the City of Dallas. 18 of 21 are confirmed first-party — an 86% verification rate that makes Dallas one of the best-documented pickleball markets in the country.

Dallas has the most transparent pickleball infrastructure of any major Texas city. Dallas Parks & Recreation runs a dedicated pickleball page at dallasparks.org that lists every city-operated facility with addresses, court counts, and fees — and they keep it current. That transparency means Dallas players can actually make informed decisions, instead of calling five venues to find out if courts are available.

The picture that emerges from that data: Dallas has a strong, distributed free-park network (14 city parks with courts), two excellent paid city facilities for competitive and organized play, and three dedicated indoor clubs covering North Dallas, the Design District, and Bishop Arts. The free-park system is the best in Texas — Cole Park in the Uptown/Oak Lawn area has 6 dedicated and lighted courts, more than any other single free venue in Dallas, and it's minutes from downtown.

What Dallas doesn't have (yet): a Chicken N Pickle-style "bar-and-pickle" megavenue, a dominant membership club with 20+ courts, or concentrated free-court clusters the way Austin's McAllister Park provides for the northwest quadrant. It makes up for it in breadth and geographic spread.

The short answer for each type of player

You want the best indoor dedicated club: Go to Preston Playhouse (9 courts, 13130 Preston Road, 75240). Nine indoor courts in North Dallas, all bookable by the hour. Reservations and memberships available. Hours Mon–Thu 8am–10pm, Fri–Sun 8am–8pm. If you're in the Design District or working downtown, The Grove Pickleball — Design District (8 courts, 1461 Wycliff Ave, 75207) is the better call — open until 11pm most weekdays, no membership required, $40/hr.

You want free outdoor courts near the urban core: Cole Park (6 courts, 4000 Cole Ave, 75204) in the Uptown/Cedar Springs area is the clear answer — the most dedicated, lighted, and fenced free courts at any single Dallas park. First-come, first-served, open 5am–11pm daily. If Cole is full, Willis C. Winters Park (4 courts, 101 S Glasgow Dr, 75214) in East Dallas and Churchill Park (4 courts, 7025 Churchill Way, 75230) in Preston Hollow are the next-closest four-court free options.

You want the most courts at a paid city facility: Samuell Grand Tennis Center (12–14 courts, 6220 E Grand Ave, 75223) in East Dallas — the largest court concentration at any single Dallas venue, paid or free. Fees around $4/person for 90 minutes. L.B. Houston Tennis Center (12 courts, 11225 Luna Road, 75229) is the equivalent for NW Dallas players.

You want to play evenings or weekends without planning ahead: Free parks are first-come, first-served and open until dusk (or 11pm at Cole Park). The Grove — Design District stays open until 11pm weekdays and midnight on weekends, with no membership requirement.

You want a membership club: Preston Playhouse offers memberships alongside per-court reservations. The Grove has memberships but doesn't require one. There is no major membership-first club in Dallas (no equivalent to Austin's Chicken N Pickle or Houston's Elite Pickleball) as of May 2026 — the market skews toward pay-per-court and city parks.

Indoor dedicated clubs

Preston Playhouse — North Dallas / Far North (9 courts)

13130 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75240 · (972) 385-3641

Preston Playhouse is the largest indoor pickleball club in North Dallas. Nine courts, confirmed on the official Preston Playhouse website (prestonpickleball.com). Court reservations and memberships both available; pricing is not published on the site — call (972) 385-3641 for current rates. Hours: Mon–Thu 8am–10pm, Fri–Sun 8am–8pm.

Located in far North Dallas near the 635 / Preston Rd corridor, Preston Playhouse serves the Addison, Richardson, and North Dallas residential belt. It is the practical indoor choice for players in the 75240, 75248, and 75230 ZIP codes who want a consistent indoor option without driving south.

Preston Playhouse

The Grove Pickleball — Design District (8 courts)

1461 Wycliff Ave, Dallas, TX 75207 · (214) 308-1547

Eight championship-sized indoor courts on Pro-Cushion surfaces in the Design District — the best positioned club for players in Uptown, Oak Lawn, downtown Dallas, and Lower Greenville. The Grove is the anti-membership club: all pricing is published, all courts are reservable by anyone, and the operating hours extend past midnight on weekends. If you work late, The Grove's 11pm weekday closing time is a meaningful advantage over most alternatives.

The Grove Pickleball — Design District

The Grove Pickleball — Bishop Arts / Downtown (2 courts)

2354 Hardwick St, Dallas, TX 75208 · (214) 308-1457

Two CushionX indoor courts at The Grove's smaller Bishop Arts / Downtown location, a short drive from the Design District flagship. Same pricing ($40/hr) and hours as the Design District location. Two courts means availability can be tight at peak times — book ahead. Best suited for players based in the Bishop Arts District, Oak Cliff, or the Cedars.

Paid city tennis centers

Dallas Parks & Recreation operates two large tennis centers that have added dedicated pickleball courts. Both are managed by Impact Activities and charge a low per-person fee.

Samuell Grand Tennis Center — East Dallas (12–14 courts)

6220 E Grand Ave, Dallas, TX 75223 · (469) 250-7887

The largest single pickleball venue in Dallas by court count. The official dallasparks.org pickleball page lists 14 dedicated courts; the facility record also references 12 courts — the discrepancy is unresolved and our record reflects this at "not yet confirmed" status, but either count makes this the biggest paid-pickleball complex in the city. Pricing: approximately $4/person for 90 minutes (confirm current rate). Hours: Mon–Thu 9am–9pm (closed 2–4pm for maintenance), Fri 9am–7pm (closed 2–4pm), Sat 8:30am–7pm, Sun 9am–6pm.

Located in the East Dallas neighborhood west of Buckner Blvd, convenient for Lakewood, East Dallas, and Pleasant Grove players. The most structured competitive environment of any Dallas venue.

Samuell Grand Tennis Center

Fretz Tennis Center — Far North Dallas / Bent Tree (4 courts)

6998 Belt Line Rd, Dallas, TX 75254 · (214) 670-6622

Four designated outdoor pickleball courts at Fretz Tennis Center, managed by Impact Activities. Pricing: $5.00/person/90 minutes; unlimited multi-club monthly membership also available. Hours: Mon–Thu 9am–10pm, Fri 9am–8:30pm, Sat–Sun 9am–8pm. The extended Monday–Thursday hours (to 10pm) make Fretz the best choice for North Dallas players who want competitive or organized evening play.

Fretz Tennis Center

L.B. Houston Tennis Center — NW Dallas / Bachman Lake (12 courts)

11225 Luna Road, Dallas, TX 75229 · (214) 670-6367

Twelve multi-use courts (Impact Activities notes them as "multi-use reservation courts"). The official dallasparks.org pickleball page lists the facility; a data conflict exists between the court count on that page and the Impact Activities listing. Pricing: $5/person per 90 minutes. Status: not yet confirmed (data conflict flagged in our database). Confirm current conditions by calling before driving.

What to know before you drive over

The free-park system is Dallas's strongest pickleball asset. Fourteen verified city parks with pickleball courts, all confirmed from the official dallasparks.org pickleball page. This is not the case in every major city — many metros have untracked ad-hoc striped tennis courts and guesswork. Dallas Parks actually maintains a current inventory. This makes planning straightforward.

Cole Park fills fast. Six courts is a lot for a free park, but Cole Park is also the most central and most popular free venue in a city of 1.3 million. On weekend mornings and weekday evenings, expect to wait. Arrive by 7–8am for weekend sessions or use The Grove down the road.

The Grove is genuinely member-optional. Many clubs say "no membership required" and then make it inconvenient. The Grove's Design District location publishes pricing, requires no app, and stays open late. For players who want quality indoor courts without commitment, this is the defining option in Dallas.

Samuell Grand is the best value for volume. If you play 3+ sessions per week and want court access rather than drop-in, the Impact Activities multi-club monthly membership at Samuell Grand and Fretz covers both facilities. The daily rate ($4–5/90 min) is among the lowest for a maintained, staffed pickleball facility in Texas.

Dallas has no bar-and-pickle megavenue yet. The Sandy Pickle is entertainment-format, not a dedicated club. Players accustomed to Chicken N Pickle (which has locations in Texas but not yet in Dallas proper) or Houston's Casa Pickle won't find a direct equivalent. The Grove is the closest in spirit — quality courts, late hours, no commitment — but it's court-focused, not food-and-beverage-focused.

The verification advantage. As of May 2026, Dallas is the best-documented major pickleball market we cover — 18 of 21 venues confirmed first-party. The 3 remaining (Samuell Grand court count, L.B. Houston Tennis Center data conflict, The Sandy Pickle court count) are noted in this guide. For everything else, the data on this page is confirmed against primary sources.

How this guide was built

Every venue on this page was confirmed from its primary source: the operator's official website, the Dallas Parks & Recreation Department's official pickleball page, or the official Google Business Profile. We do not use third-party court-aggregator sites as sources.

Court counts come from the venue or the city. Where a count conflict exists (Samuell Grand, L.B. Houston), we note it explicitly rather than picking one arbitrarily.

Google ratings shown on the Dallas best-clubs page are fetched from the official Google Places API within a 90-day freshness window.
