Where to Play Pickleball in Jacksonville, Florida (2026)
Last reviewed 30 May 2026 against every venue's primary source. We list 17 distinct open pickleball venues across Jacksonville proper, the Beaches communities, and the Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach barrier islands.
Jacksonville is quietly one of the better-stocked pickleball markets in Florida — a state where pickleball density is already the highest in the country. The city's unusual geography (Jacksonville is the largest US city by land area at 874 square miles) means its pickleball scene is distributed across genuinely distinct submarkets, and the right venue depends entirely on which quadrant you're starting from.
The Westside / Oakleaf corridor holds Argyle Forest Park — 12 free outdoor courts, one of the largest single-park free pickleball complexes in Northeast Florida — and The Paddle Lands, a 7-court indoor club that opened in 2024. Cross the St. Johns River into Southside and you find PickleRage Jacksonville (9 CushionX indoor courts, Avenues Walk), plus the Southside Park Tennis Complex (8 dedicated pickleball courts) and Fort Family Regional Park (4 courts). Downtown Jacksonville has Toon Town Pickleball, a distinctive 6-court cartoon-themed indoor venue at 1726 E Church Street. Over on the Beaches, Chipshot (8 indoor courts, Atlantic Blvd) and The Rowdy Pickle (3 indoor courts, Atlantic Beach) round out a geography that rewards knowing where you are.
This guide covers every open venue we have confirmed — organized by where you're likely to be, not by an arbitrary ranking.
The short answer for each type of player
You want the best dedicated indoor club: Go to PickleRage Jacksonville (9 courts, 10320 Shops Ln, 32258, Avenues Walk in Southside). Nine CushionX joint-friendly indoor courts, structured league play, and membership pricing starting at $59/month — the most courts under one roof of any indoor club in Jacksonville. If you're on the Westside, The Paddle Lands (7 courts, Oakleaf Station, 32222) is the alternative — SmartCourt AI technology, open play from $14/session, and a drop shot lounge on site.
You want the best free outdoor courts: Argyle Forest Park (12 courts, 8533 Acanthus Drive, 32244) in the Westside is Jacksonville's standout free-court complex — the largest cluster of free outdoor pickleball courts in the metro area, all installed as of Fall 2022. On the Southside, Ringhaver Park (6 courts, 5198 118th Street, 32244) and Walter Anderson Memorial Park (6 courts, 2738 Orange Pickers Rd, 32223, Mandarin) are the next-best free options. In North Jacksonville, William Sheffield Regional Park (6 courts, 3659 New Berlin Rd, 32226) is the largest free complex north of Downtown.
You want something unique: Toon Town Pickleball (6 courts, 1726 E Church St, 32202, Downtown) is the most distinctive venue in Jacksonville — indoor hard courts with a full cartoon-theme design aesthetic, open play and court reservations. Non-members pay $25/session or $60/hr for reservations; members from $10–$12/session.
You want to play at the Beaches: Chipshot (8 courts, 13164 Atlantic Blvd, 32225) is the main Beaches-area indoor option — premium courts, golf simulators, lighted, and bookable by the hour. The Rowdy Pickle (3 courts, 725 Atlantic Blvd #21, Atlantic Beach, 32233) is smaller but memberless — guest court rental at $50/hr, or a $20/month member plan cuts the rate.
You want a paid city facility: Southside Park Tennis Complex (8 courts, 1539 Hendricks Ave, 32207) is Jacksonville's busiest City of Jacksonville tennis-and-pickleball complex, with drop-in at $2.50/1.5 hours or annual membership from $24 (junior) to $175 (family). Fort Family Regional Park (4 courts, 8000 Baymeadows Rd E, 32256) and Boone Park Tennis Complex (4 courts, 3730 Park St, 32205, Riverside/Avondale) use the same fee structure.
Free public courts
Jacksonville's Parks & Recreation Department (COJ — City of Jacksonville) has expanded its pickleball footprint significantly since 2021. All free COJ parks listed below are open during daylight hours (sunrise to sunset) unless otherwise noted.
Argyle Forest Park — Westside (12 courts)
8533 Acanthus Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32244
Jacksonville's largest free pickleball complex. Twelve outdoor courts installed in Fall 2022 alongside new tennis and basketball courts. Located in the Argyle Forest neighborhood in the western suburbs — close to the Clay County line, convenient for Orange Park and Fleming Island players as well as Westside Jacksonville. First-come, first-served. No reservations; no lights confirmed in our records.
Jarboe Park — Neptune Beach (8 courts)
510 Florida Blvd, Neptune Beach, FL 32266
Eight lighted outdoor courts in Neptune Beach, well-positioned for players on the barrier island (Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach) who don't want to cross the Intracoastal for indoor play. Hours 7am–9pm per local sources. First-come, first-served. No reservations.
Note: The official Neptune Beach city website for this park returned an access error during our verification. The venue is included at needs-verification status — the open status and court count are reported by multiple local sources, but primary-source verification of hours and lighting is pending.
William Sheffield Regional Park — North Jacksonville (6 courts)
3659 New Berlin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32226
Six outdoor courts installed Spring 2024 in a 385-acre regional park in North Jacksonville, near the Heckscher Drive / New Berlin corridor. One of the newer additions to COJ's pickleball network. Our record reflects 6 outdoor courts based on multiple sources; COJ primary-source verification of the exact count is still pending. Daylight hours. This park serves Mandarin, San Jose, and South Jacksonville players who want a free outdoor option without driving to the Westside.

The Paddle Lands opened in 2024 in Oakleaf Station, a retail and residential hub in far-west Jacksonville. This venue appears in our database under two IDs (an earlier unverified record and the current verified record). Both point to the same facility; the current record at 8402 Merchants Way is the confirmed location.
Toon Town Pickleball — Downtown (6 courts)
1726 E Church St, Jacksonville, FL 32202
Downtown Jacksonville's pickleball venue — six indoor hard courts with a cartoon-themed aesthetic that makes it immediately recognizable on social media. Located on Atlantic Boulevard near the Regency area, making it accessible from both the Beaches and the Arlington/Regency part of Northeast Jacksonville. Hours: Mon–Thu 7am–10pm, Fri–Sat 7am–11pm, Sun 7am–10pm.
Pricing: Court rental before 7pm Mon–Fri is $40/hr; Fri after 7pm and weekends are $50/hr. Memberships available. This is a premium entertainment-fitness venue — expect a different atmosphere than a pure pickleball club.
→ Chipshot
The Rowdy Pickle — Atlantic Beach (3 courts)
725 Atlantic Blvd #21, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233
Three premium indoor courts in Atlantic Beach — the most beach-adjacent indoor option in the metro, and the only one that's fully memberless. Guest court rental: $50/hr. Member plan: $20/month + $30/hr court rental. Free trial available (up to 1 hour). Hours: Mon–Sun 6am–12pm (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas).
The Rowdy Pickle positions itself as the play-how-you-want option for Beaches players: no required membership, flexible hours, and a focused pickleball-only environment without the entertainment-venue overhead of Chipshot.
Paid city tennis complexes (City of Jacksonville)
Jacksonville operates three tennis complexes that offer dedicated pickleball courts for a modest daily fee or annual membership. These are the only COJ facilities that charge for access — and the fee structure is reasonable.
Standard COJ tennis complex pricing: Drop-in $2.50/1.5 hours. Annual memberships: junior $24, senior (60+) $75, adult $100, family $175 (Oct–Sep). Same fee structure at all three venues.
Southside Park Tennis Complex — Southside (8 courts)
1539 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207 · (904) 255-6870
Eight dedicated pickleball courts (confirmed from multiple sources; our primary-source count shows 4 courts labeled "quickstart/pickleball" in some COJ documents — we are flagging this count as pending second confirmation). The Southside complex is Jacksonville's busiest COJ paid-pickleball venue, centrally located for the Southside, Baymeadows, and San Marco communities. Hours: Mon–Fri 9am–9pm (closed noon–3pm), Sat–Sun 8am–6pm.
→ Southside Park Tennis Complex
Fort Family Regional Park — Baymeadows / Southside (4 courts)
8000 Baymeadows Rd E, Jacksonville, FL 32256 · (904) 255-4214
Four pickleball courts at the Fort Family complex in far-east Southside. The same COJ fee applies: $2.50/1.5hr drop-in. Annual memberships from $24 to $175. This is one of the more recently expanded COJ facilities — both address and court count confirmed against the official COJ parks page. Hours: Mon–Fri 9am–9pm (closed noon–3pm), Sat–Sun 8am–6pm.
Boone Park Tennis Complex — Riverside / Avondale (4 courts)
3730 Park St, Jacksonville, FL 32205 · (904) 255-6919
Four pickleball courts alongside 14 clay and 1 hard tennis court in Boone Park — one of Jacksonville's legacy recreation areas in the historic Riverside/Avondale neighborhood west of Downtown. The COJ annual pass is the same as the other complexes. This is the most culturally central paid-pickleball option for the Riverside Arts District and Avondale communities. Hours: Mon–Fri 9am–9pm (closed noon–3pm), Sat–Sun 8am–6pm.
Jacksonville by neighborhood
Westside / Oakleaf (32222, 32244)
The best quadrant in Jacksonville for combined free-and-paid pickleball. Argyle Forest Park (12 free courts), Ringhaver Park (6 free courts), and The Paddle Lands (7 paid indoor courts) sit within a few miles of each other. If you live or work in Oakleaf Station, Orange Park, or Fleming Island, this is your home base.
Southside / Avenues / Baymeadows (32256, 32258)
PickleRage's 9-court facility anchors the Southside indoor scene. Fort Family Regional Park (4 paid courts, $2.50/drop-in), Southside Park Tennis Complex (8 paid courts), and Cuba Hunter Community Center (3 free indoor courts) round out one of Jacksonville's denser pickleball clusters. Convenient for players in Mandarin, Baymeadows, Deerwood, and the Avenues corridor.
Downtown / Murray Hill (32202, 32205)
Toon Town Pickleball (6 indoor courts, Downtown) is the primary option for Downtown residents and workers. Boone Park Tennis Complex (4 paid courts, Riverside/Avondale) is five minutes west. The easiest corridor to reach by public transit or bike from the urban core.
Arlington / Regency (32225, 32277)
Chipshot (8 indoor courts, Atlantic Blvd) serves this quadrant. Blue Cypress Park (4 free outdoor courts, University Blvd N) is the free option. This area is underserved by free parks relative to the Westside and Southside — Chipshot fills the gap for players willing to pay.
The Beaches (Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach — 32233, 32250, 32266)
The Rowdy Pickle (3 indoor courts, Atlantic Beach) and Jarboe Park (8 free outdoor courts, Neptune Beach) are the two anchor options. Chipshot on Atlantic Blvd is technically Regency/Arlington but close enough to serve Beaches players who don't mind a 10-minute drive off the island. If you want to stay on the island, The Rowdy Pickle is your default paid option and Jarboe Park is your free option.
North Jacksonville (32218, 32226)
William Sheffield Regional Park (6 free courts, New Berlin Rd) is the main option. This quadrant has the least indoor coverage of any part of Jacksonville — the COJ rec center network (multiple community centers on our research list) may fill this gap as Verifier confirms additional venues.
Mandarin / South Jacksonville (32223)
Walter Anderson Memorial Park (6 free courts, Orange Pickers Rd) is the primary local option. Southside Park Tennis Complex (paid, Hendricks Ave) is the nearest paid facility. Mandarin has grown rapidly and its pickleball infrastructure is still catching up — this is one of the few Jacksonville submarkets where demand visibly outpaces supply.
What to know before you drive over
Jacksonville is huge — plan by quadrant. At 874 square miles, Jacksonville is the largest US city by land area. Driving from the Westside (32222) to Atlantic Beach (32233) is 30+ minutes in normal traffic. Pick your venue by neighborhood, not by "Jacksonville" as a single destination.
The Westside / Argyle Forest is the best free-court destination in the metro. Twelve courts at Argyle Forest Park alone. For players who want serious free outdoor play — and don't mind the Westside drive from the rest of Jacksonville — this is the standout option.
PickleRage vs. The Paddle Lands: the real indoor choice. PickleRage (9 courts, Southside) and The Paddle Lands (7 courts, Oakleaf) are both premium indoor clubs. PickleRage has more courts and is closer to the urban center; The Paddle Lands has newer tech and is more convenient for Westside and Clay County players. Both have membership tiers; both allow pay-as-you-go.
Two YMCA venues are in our database but should be treated with caution. Our records include Brooks Family YMCA and Winston Family YMCA as venues — but direct verification of the official First Coast YMCA website for both locations found no mention of pickleball courts. These venues appear in our database based on earlier leads that we have not been able to confirm against the primary source. We recommend calling before driving: Brooks Family YMCA (904) 854-2000; Winston Family YMCA (904) 355-1436.
COJ fee structure is standardized and low. The three COJ tennis complexes (Southside, Fort Family, Boone Park) all charge $2.50/1.5 hours drop-in. The annual pass ($100 for adults, $75 for seniors) pays off fast for regular players. This is unusually affordable for a major Florida market.
The verification gap. As of May 2026, 9 of Jacksonville's 19 venues are confirmed first-party; 10 are at "not yet confirmed" status. Where we note a venue as "not yet confirmed," the open status and general details come from COJ official records or operator websites — but specific hours, court counts, or access policies may differ. Call ahead for anything time-sensitive.
How this guide was built
Every venue on this page was researched against its primary source: the venue's official website, the City of Jacksonville Parks & Recreation Department's official parks and athletics directory, or the official Google Business Profile. We do not use third-party court-aggregator sites as sources; they frequently have stale court counts and wrong addresses.
Court count claims come from the venue or the city. Where a venue does not publish a count, we flag it rather than estimate. The two YMCA venues with unresolved data integrity flags are explicitly called out above; they are included in our database but are not featured as confirmed options in this guide.
Google ratings shown on the Jacksonville best-clubs page are fetched from the official Google Places API within a 90-day freshness window.
