Where to Play Padel in the US: States, Cities and What Court Time Costs

Where US padel actually is (a third of it in Florida), whether to expect indoor or outdoor courts, and why prices quoted per court and per player can't be compared — from 58 verified venues.

Finding a padel court in the US is still a map-reading exercise. There is no park with a free court to drive past: nearly every US padel court sits inside a private club, and the first question is usually not "where?" but "do I need to be a member, and is it priced per court or per person?"

This guide answers that from the records behind The Court Scout's directory. We list 189 US padel venues. 58 are verified and open, spread across 13 states and 41 cities. "Verified" means a key fact was confirmed against the venue's own website, social profile or Google Business Profile. Everything below is computed from those 58 only; the other venues are still waiting on a check, so a state that looks thin here may simply be waiting on one. Prices change, so treat each figure as a pattern and confirm with the club.

Florida alone is 21 of 58, or 36%, and Miami has seven verified venues, more than any other city. Outside Florida the pattern is a handful of big metros: Brooklyn and Chicago have three each; San Francisco, Austin, Houston, Nashville and Orlando have two. Other places worth a look: Atlanta, Tempe, Charlotte, Morristown, NJ and West Jordan, UT. Browse the full list on the US padel directory.

Indoor or outdoor?

Of the 58, 29 are indoor, 18 outdoor, 7 have both, and 4 don't state it. That is more indoor than you might expect, because the northern and mountain clubs (Chicago, Indiana, New Jersey, Utah and Brooklyn) are almost all indoor, while Florida, Georgia and Nashville lean outdoor and covered. If you play in Chicago in January, the outdoor map is irrelevant. Use the indoor padel courts page to filter.

Access: it's a club, not a park

53 of the 58 are paid by the booking; 5 are membership-based. No verified US padel venue is free to walk into. The nearest thing is a limited public allowance at one club: BRISAS East Hampton lists free public visits (limited per season) alongside seasonal memberships from $1,800.

Two things to know before you go:

  • Most clubs let non-members book. Typically at a higher rate than members, and often at off-peak times only. Some are strictly members-only (Reserve NYC Hudson Yards, Reserve Padel Miami Design District), and a few sit inside residential or country clubs.
  • Many are combined venues. Bay Padel, Padel Pals, TEMPO and Proximo offer padel and pickleball under one roof, which is useful if your group is split on sports.

What it costs: read the unit first

The single biggest trap in padel pricing is the unit. Padel is played four at a time, and clubs quote either per court or per player. A $160 court is $40 each; a $25 per-player fee is $100 for the court. They are not the same kind of number, so we do not quote a US average; any such figure would mix the two.

Examples from published rates (verified records, per the venue's own booking info):

Quoted per court

  • Bay Padel Dogpatch and Sunnyvale, San Francisco Bay Area: $28/hour non-peak, $35/hour peak.
  • Bay Padel San Jose (non-members): $25/hour off-peak, $40/hour peak.
  • Union Padel Club, Chicago: from $35/hour non-member.
  • Cube Padel Houston: $85-$100 per 90 minutes.
  • Proximo Padel, Chicago: $150-$170 per 90 minutes. Cube Padel Chicago: $180 per 90 minutes non-member peak.
  • Padel Haus Williamsburg, Brooklyn: about $160/hour.

Quoted per player

  • Charlotte Padel Club, Matthews NC: $25 non-member prime time ($15 members).
  • Padel Club Austin: $25 per person per 1.5 hours.
  • SLC Padel Club, Woods Cross UT: $20 per person per hour at peak.
  • Padel Haus Atlanta: $35 per person per hour at peak.
  • NorthPoint Padel, Westfield IN: $25 per person per hour at peak.

Even with that, the spread tells a story: big-city coastal courts (Brooklyn, Chicago) cost several times what a Utah or North Carolina club charges per head. Memberships range widely too: And Padel (NJ) lists Basic at $120/month, Padel Park Utah from $60 to $299/month, and Padel N9NE in San Diego $199/month plus a $499 initiation fee. Where a membership includes credits (Pura Padel in Sherman Oaks bundles Playtomic credits), do the arithmetic against paying as you go.

How to pick a first venue

  1. Start with open play. Several clubs (Padel Pals in Mesa lists $20 per padel player) run drop-in sessions that match you with other players, which beats booking a court you can't fill.
  2. Prefer off-peak for a first try. Peak is usually weekdays after work and weekends.
  3. Check the booking platform. Many clubs use Playtomic or their own system; the listing's website link goes straight to it.
  4. Ask about rackets. Most clubs rent them; our cost-to-start guide covers what to buy later.

What is missing

Honesty beats a complete-looking map. Only 58 of 189 US venues are verified-and-open, so this describes the venues we could confirm, not the whole market, and Florida's share may partly reflect which regions have been checked first. Court counts are inconsistent in source records (some venues also list pickleball courts), so we deliberately don't quote a median. Five verified records are excluded as not open: four coming soon (Sodo Padel and Lake Padel Club in Orlando, Padel Social in Bethesda, Quail Creek in Naples) and one closed (Padelhorn, Vancouver WA). Clubs can add or fix their listing through the venue pages. No venue paid to appear or rank here.

Sources and method

  • Venue counts, types, environments, access and rates: The Court Scout verified dataset (data/courts.json), 2026-10-24, restricted to US padel records with verification_status: verified and status: open (n=58).
  • Each record is confirmed against the venue's own website, official social profile or Google Business Profile; source links appear on each venue page.
  • Rates are quoted as the venue publishes them, with the unit left as stated. Verify before booking.
